At NorthStar Anesthesia, CRNAs are a vital part of the care team, which ensures that we have the right people in the right place caring for our patients. Here, you can grow your career by practicing at the top of your license and sharing in leadership and decision-making—all while balancing work and life.

With clinician-centered staffing and work-life balancing benefits, we offer a positive environment and a variety of scheduling options across our facilities, with shifts spanning 8–24 hours.

Here, optimal performance and outcomes come from close collaboration among our clinical, operations, and executive teams. We give CRNAs a vital voice in sustaining quality and leading change—so you’re a true partner in our collective excellence.

Investing in your skill development is our way of doing business. We empower you with mentors and resources to practice to the full scope of your expertise within a collaborative, supportive environment. You’ll grow in clinical skills, with the opportunity to specialize and provide a wide range of anesthesia services.

Our dedicated Office of Clinical Quality engages clinicians and trains our teams, ensuring that safety and patient care best practices lead to meaningful enhancements in patient outcomes. As a CRNA with NorthStar, you can choose to pursue a leadership role in clinical quality, supporting the development and application of emerging best practices.
Founded in 2004 by an anesthesiologist and a CRNA, NorthStar is built on a legacy of clinical leadership. We know what it takes to balance the art and science of patient care, and we do this by focusing on the business of anesthesia care so you can excel in it. In practice, this looks like a schedule and caseload driven by your clinical interests, the freedom to practice at the top of your license with unique CRNA leadership pathways, a salary structure and benefits that support your way of life, and a team-based culture with core values that enhance the CRNA experience—ultimately enhancing the patient’s experience, too.
At NorthStar, our triad model prioritizes dynamic, peer-to-peer decision-making among three key stakeholders: anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and our operations team. From the local to the national level, this triad aligns clinical teams and hospital leaders to balance outstanding clinical care with optimal performance.
One of healthcare’s few certainties is change. With NorthStar, you’ll find the culture and values that support retention and long-term stability as the industry changes around us. Our team-focused model is proven to thrive through transition, so you can continue to focus on patient care—and your career.

At NorthStar, you can choose to gain a wide range of experience practicing anesthesia across clinical specialties, expanding your skills and driving your career path forward. Our facilities cover cases in seven core sub-specialties.
In pediatrics, you’ll provide the best care not only to a patient, but to a family. From simple ambulatory procedures to complex surgeries, delivering anesthesia to pediatric patients at a NorthStar location means prioritizing safety, quality, and a family-centered approach.
Anesthesia plays a critical role in labor and delivery, not only supporting optimal maternal and infant outcomes, but enhancing the birth experience. With NorthStar, you’re equipped to provide patients with pain blocks and other anesthesia modalities to help them remain comfortable and safe throughout labor and delivery.
As more traditional and minimally invasive interventions are applied in cardiovascular care, the range of procedures you might support as a CRNA is also expanding. You’ll be equipped to apply the latest advancements in cardiothoracic anesthesia care to help deliver the best possible outcomes.
In neurosurgical procedures, close communication with the entire surgical team is necessary to sustain the right balance between patient comfort, vital signs, and the patient’s conscious state. Here, the highest degree of training is needed, and NorthStar’s emphasis on communication and collaboration is critical.
At NorthStar, we value the role of the CRNA within the care team. By supporting you in practicing the full scope of anesthesia care, many NorthStar sites offer you the opportunity to perform regional anesthesia pain blocks. Building a specialty in patient pain management means you’ll play a key role in a patient’s comfort—critical to their overall surgical experience.
In trauma cases, coordination and communication in the midst of chaos is a life-or-death imperative. NorthStar’s values prioritize those core competencies, equipping you to support critically injured patients with a full suite of anesthesia modalities—and the steady sensibility cultivated by our culture.
With medicine’s growing emphasis on minimally invasive procedures performed at outpatient ambulatory surgery centers, it is an exciting time to practice as a CRNA in those settings. As a NorthStar clinician, you’ll not only have the knowledge needed to support patient safety, you’ll be part of a company that is helping to define quality in ambulatory anesthesia care.

All In For Our Patients
At NorthStar Anesthesia, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to staffing our locations. Rather than emphasize ratios, we build the right staffing model for each location and case mix, prioritizing our anesthesia care team approach to meet patient needs.
NorthStar Anesthesia was co-founded by a CRNA, and we value CRNAs as core members of the clinical team and leadership structure. Here, our One Team model gives CRNAs a voice and empowers join decision-making among CRNAs, anesthesiologists, and operational leaders at every level of the organization. We invest in dedicated programs to support your development as a leader at every stage of your career.
We use a variety of compensation models. Base compensation covers agreed upon hours and caseload, and anything above and beyond that is compensated based on discussions among the team.
Regardless of your compensation relationship with NorthStar, we strive to optimize the administrative responsibilities involved in your practice so you can focus on what you do best: Care for patients.
We aim for optimal staffing at each location to provide both the best care for patients and a healthy balance for clinicians. Scheduling is determined by local teams, which allows you to maximize the flexibility of your hours while still growing as a professional and, when possible, taking on the cases compatible with your clinical interests.
In our Triad model, CRNAs, anesthesiologists, and operations teams collaborate in decision-making at the local, regional, and national level. From daily OR board management to ongoing review and assessment of perioperative KPIs, the Triad supports optimal clinical care and business performance, with decisions made peer-to-peer, at all levels.
Unlike a growing number of anesthesia groups, we are not funded by private equity investors. Rather, we are a leading, national anesthesia practice company, founded by an anesthesiologist and a CRNA more than 10 years ago. Supported by a long-term holding company, we are positioned to prioritize strategic, long-term investments across our business rather than short-term shareholder gains.
