As a student registered nurse anesthetist training at a NorthStar facility, you’ll gain the skills and case exposure you need to be a well-rounded anesthesia clinician. And you’ll discover the NorthStar CRNA way: the opportunity to practice at the top of your license while cultivating valuable leadership skills within a supportive culture.
When training at a NorthStar site, you can experience a diverse scope of practice. In addition to a thorough overview of anesthesia practice offered by our local facilities and their clinical coordinators, NorthStar's sites practice a variety of specialties and can offer experience in a range of key rotations such as cardiac, obstetrics, regional, and pediatric anesthesia. As you begin your career, valuable perspective and experience can be yours through rich and varied training opportunities, strong partnerships with nurse anesthesia programs, and an idea of your potential as a clinical leader practicing at the top of your license.
During your training at a NorthStar site, you'll gain exposure to site-specific specialized anesthetic techniques and case types—preparing you to step into your professional practice with confidence and advanced skills.
From simple ambulatory procedures to complex surgeries, you’ll learn how to prioritize safety, quality, and a family-centered approach in caring for pediatric patients.
You’ll gain exposure to neuraxial blocks and other anesthesia modalities to help patients remain comfortable and safe throughout labor and delivery—enhancing the birth experience.
As more traditional and minimally invasive interventions are applied in cardiovascular care, the range of procedures you might manage as a CRNA is growing as well. Supported by our Office of Clinical Quality, you’ll be equipped to apply the latest advancements in cardiothoracic anesthesia care to help deliver the best possible outcomes.
As an SRNA rotating through a NorthStar site, many facilities offer the opportunity to train in providing regional anesthesia pain blocks. Supporting the full scope of anesthesia care in your practice will empower you to play a key role in a patient’s comfort—critical to their overall surgical experience.
