NorthStar Anesthesia announced today that it is collaborating with the Private Diagnostic Clinic (PDC), the physician practice of Duke Health. NorthStar Anesthesia is currently managing the academic medical center program at Detroit Medical Center and will leverage their learning as well as this relationship to offer best in class solutions to other academic medical centers that hold their academic mission as first priority. Each agreement with NorthStar and each academic medical center will be uniquely tailored to improve the anesthesia delivery model of their university. Duke Anesthesiology is recognized for its best in class management of clinical academic practices, including faculty development, teaching and research investment and translation into clinical practices. These services will be offered along with NorthStar’s suite of solutions to improve efficiency and financial performance.
“We are excited to have engaged with such a prestigious group for this endeavor,” stated Chris Riopelle, NorthStar Anesthesia CEO. “By integrating our unique offerings, we should be able to add value to a market not currently being served by outside resources.”
“Academic anesthesia departments that confront complex management challenges will be able to improve on their academic mission fulfillment and enhance the experience for their residents, clinicians and patients through unique benefits derived from this engagement,” stated Dr. Solomon Aronson, Professor at Duke University School of Medicine and Executive Vice Chair, Department of Anesthesiology.
“NorthStar and Private Diagnostic Clinic will engage with academic medical centers who strive for excellence in their programs and want to leverage partners who have experience providing best in class solutions in anesthesia,” said Dr. Phil Eichenholz, Founder and President of NorthStar Anesthesia.
